Immigration de Wales au Canada via Pier 21.

My project is about how over 1 000 000 immigrants arrived at Pier 21, in Halifax, N.S. My grandmother was one of them, and her story is told in my project. Also, her life before and after.

I think that it would be the history and story of my grandmother, as well as other immigrants. I found it interesting that people would leave everything behind to just restart in Canada. I found it neat that my grandmother was a subject of the Brain Drain, in which educated people were encouraged to emigrate to other countries.

I would like to share my knowledge about Pier 21 and its amazing history. I would lie to point out that it is a place where miracles have happened, including a woman giving birth to twins right there! It is an important part of our Canadian heritage, as it is the only original immigration shed left in Canada. People have began new lives here, and through 41 years, Pier 21 was a beacon of hope for all.

I think that our lives are much easier that the ones in my project. They had to do many things by themselves, and manually. Overall, they had tougher lives for many reasons. Like I said earlier, a woman gave birth in Pier 21, with no assistance from doctors or anything.
